The Book of Ecclesiastes takes us to a place we know we should be but are reluctant to go. The place of sober reflection upon the fleeting futility of life “under the sun.” It is only after such needed reflection that we are able to look above the sun, to heaven, and to grasp our eternal hope.

In the Book of Exodus, the God of glory demonstrates his steadfast love for his covenant people. God saves his people for his glory and prepares his people for his lasting presence among them. And in so doing, the Book of Exodus helps the people of God in every generation to know God: his qualities, his character, and his will for his people and this world.
