This passage is about the spiritual authority that Nathan plays in the life of King David. As a prophet, he was able to confront and speak to David in response to his crime against Bathsheba. It speaks of our need to have people who can speak into our lives, but also of our responsibility to others, to speak into their lives. As a spiritual family, we belong to one another, which means we exercise and receive spiritual authority from one another.
