Sr. High Service Trip – South BronxSunday, July 12, 2026 - Friday, July 17, 2026 Download: Download EventTrip Details: Where: A House on Beekman in the South BronxWhen: July 12-17Who: Student entering grades 9-12 Cost: $250 at Registration (Then some accessible money for the week of our trip) What: We will serve at A House on Beekman each day for a week and help them run their summer camp. A HOUSE ON BEEKMAN empowers children and youth in the South Bronx to flourish by providing programs that focus on academic, social, and emotional growth. Their vision is to equip children in their community to live out their God-given potential, and summer camp is an important part of their effort in doing this. You can follow THIS LINK to learn more about A HOUSE ON BEEKMAN.SCHEDULE:- Team Meetings: Leading up to our trip we will have a couple scheduled meetings to help equip our team for this experience. Those dates will be determined when we establish our team. - Sunday, July 12: We will depart after church in order to attend an Evening Orientation at A House on Beekman.- Monday -Thursday, July 13-16: our group will serve at the camp from 9:30am - 3:30pm.We will help run stations that the campers will rotate through, such as: The Arts, Enrichment (Reading + Math), Outdoor Discovery, Bible, and Snack/Lunch. On Friday, we will enjoy a “Fun Friday Outing” with the campers. Our evenings will be spent together enjoying food and sights in NYC. - Friday evening July 17: We will travel home. TRAVEL:We will travel to and from the city as a group on the Long Island Railroad. Each day we will travel as a group on busses and trains to The House on Beekman in the South Bronx as well as to our dinners, sights, and lodging locations each evening. The LIRR tickets will be covered with the cost of the trip. Students will pay their own way on subways and busses. FOOD:We will eat out in NYC as affordably as possible. We will get food from delis, markets, cafes, fast food etc. for breakfast and lunch and then have some fun finding affordable dinner spots to sit down together. Students will need money accessible for their breakfast and lunch purchases but dinner costs will be covered with the cost of the trip. OUTINGS: Once our group is formed, we can discuss some special evening outings to make the most of our time in NYC.
