Summary:

By now, the reader of Peter’s letter is likely puzzled. God’s call to be a blessing to those who curse, and to live like a merciful priest in a hurtful and hostile world, and to pursue righteousness and suffer persecution AND rejoice, this call is humanly too hard. And so the readers is feeling a sense of inadequacy. So, Peter shows us how God has caused the Spirit of glory to rest upon all his children. And this changes everything.
