Though 1 Corinthians chapter 13 is often quoted at weddings, Paul is not writing with sentimental intentions, he is confronting a crisis. The church is full of spiritual gifts but is lacking in spiritual fruit, namely the fruit of love. Paul helps us to see that without love we are nothing. Thankfully God is love, and through Christ’s work in us we become those who radiate God’s love.
