Demolishing Idols

Passage: Exodus 32:1-35

Preacher: Mark Middlekauff

Series: Exodus: Saved for Glory

Keywords: idolatry, idols, repentance

Book: Exodus

Summary:

In Exodus 32 the people of God grow tired of waiting for Moses and wish to move on into the Promised Land without him, so they create an idol, a golden calf, to get them there. The golden calf represents their desire to have God, but on their terms. This story is meant to be an example to Christians today that we should destroy or flee from any idol that promises us God’s blessings but on our terms.
